My letter to Ibercamera: Currentzis? Por lo que veo, no dejáis vuestros esfuerzos a los colaboradores con el régimen de putin, lo que significa que apoyas el genocidio de los ucranianos. A pesar del hecho de que la invasión rusa de Ucrania a gran escala ha estado ocurriendo durante más de un año, constantemente estás arrastrando a músicos rusos al país que respeta los derechos humanos! Esta vez lleva toda una orquesta y un director que no solo son leales al régimen, sino que también tienen un patrocinador: un banco bajo sanciones VTB. Los ucranianos no tienen dudas sobre su participación personal en el régimen de Putin, y nunca borrarán esta vergüenza. ¡Cancelación inmediata de los conciertos de Currentzis y su orquesta! O obtendrá protestas de la diáspora ucraniana.

Als Hauptgrund führte Naske das anhaltende Schweigen von Currenztis zur russischen Aggression in der Ukraine an. Zum Unterschied zu Markus Hinterhäuser, der in Salzburg ungebrochen an der Fortsetzung des Engagements festhält.
Über Currenztis Scheigen existiert mittlerweile ein breiter Interpretationsspielraum; die Vermutungen reichen vom Bedürfnis des Dirigenten, «seine» russischen Kolleg*innen von Musica aeterna schützen zu wollen über Vorteile, die ihm das Putin-Regime nach wie vor gewähren würde bis zur Selbststilisierung zu einer unangreifbaren Künstlerfigur, die sich gefeit weiß von den Niederungen der Politik.
Demnach scheint es, als würden in der Behandlung von Teodor Currentzis ganz unterschiedliche Beurteilungskriterien aufeinander treffen, die es lohnt, etwas genauer auseinander zu halten.
Da ist einerseits das Prinzip der Freiheit der Kunst, das sich im wesentlichen auf kunstimmanente Qualitätskriterien stützt, es also irrelevant erscheinen lässt, welche politischen oder sonstigen Haltungen den/die ausführende/n Künstler*in umtreiben, Hauptsache er oder sie machen «gute Kunst».
Und da ist andererseits die Einschätzung, Künstler*innen käme eine besondere Vorbildwirkung zu; sie stünden kraft ihrer künstlerischen Fähigkeiten für ein «besseres Leben», das es gälte, in zumindest symbolischer Weise den Menschen zu vermitteln. Ihre moralisch-herausragende Haltung übertrüge sich auf ihr künstlerisches Schaffen, man könne es also hören und sehen, was die Ausführenden auch außerkünstlerisch prägt.
Und dann ist da noch eine ganz pragmatische Erklärung. Der zufolge käme eine traditionsreiche, bürgerlichen Werten verpflichtete Vermittlungseinrichtung wie das Wiener Konzerthaus spätestens dann an das Ende des Kampfes um die Freiheit der Kunst, wo wesentliche Geschäftsinteressen tangiert werden; sei es, dass zumindest Teile des Publikums mit vermeintlichen Putin-Schützlingen nichts zu tun haben wollen, genialische Interpretationen hin oder her. Oder sei es, dass potentielle Sponsoren sich nicht mehr engagieren wollen für jemanden, der nicht bereit ist, sich klar für die Verteidigung einer souveränen Ukraine auszusprechen. und dazu alle Beteiligten «auf Linie» zu bringen.

Бывший художественный руководитель Пермского театра оперы и балеты Теодор Курензис стал почетным профессором Московской консерватории. Вчера, 25 апреля, Курентзис выступил в Большом зале консерватории вместе со студентами учебного заведения. В программе звучал Моцарт — Большая месса до минор и Фортепианный концерт №23. Теодор Курентзис был художественным руководителем Пермского театра оперы и балета с 2011 по 2019 год. С 2012 года и по сей день он является худруком Дягилевского фестиваля, который проходит в Перми с 2003 года.

Estoy absolutamente asombrado por lo que acabo de aprender. El 12 de mayo tendrá lugar en tu ciudad un concierto de la Orquesta Gazprombank de Rusia. Este banco está bajo sanciones, así como el segundo patrocinador de la orquesta — VTB Bank. Gazprombank acaba de enviar un ejército privado a Ucrania. El director de la orquesta, Currentzis, es conocido por su apoyo a la dictadura rusa. El cartel dice que el concierto lo organiza el Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza. Buenos días:
En contestación a su correo relativo a la celebración de un concierto en Zaragoza el día 12 de mayo de 2023 por la Orquesta Gazprombank de Rusia, le informo lo siguiente:
La actuación prevista para el día de hoy dentro de la Temporada de Grandes Conciertos de Auditorio de Zaragoza, es la de la orquesta MUSICAETERNA, siendo su director titular, el griego Teodor Currentzis.
La programación de la Temporada de Grandes Conciertos de Auditorio de Zaragoza se elabora con una antelación superior a los dos años, comprometiéndose de este modo a la formalización de actuaciones con orquestas, solistas, directores, músicos etc… para posteriormente materializar su contratación en las fechas previstas, sumándose de esta forma a las giras nacionales que éstos realizan por ciudades como Madrid y Barcelona. Por lo que el diseño del programa de esta temporada se encuentra elaborado desde hace mucho tiempo.
MUSICAETERNA es un reputado conjunto con una destacable lista de premios obtenidos y conciertos realizados en los principales escenarios del mundo, mereciendo siempre elogiosos comentarios de la crítica especializada y público internacional, Por dicha razón, su inclusión en los ciclos de Grandes Conciertos de Auditorio de Zaragoza se empezó a barajar a finales de 2020.
Teodor Currentzis de origen griego, nacionalizado ruso se encuentra llevando a cabo actualmente un proyecto musical de carácter internacional y Europeo. Asimismo, no consta para el Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza que haya realizado ninguna declaración a favor de la agresión rusa, ni se encuentra limitado su acceso por ningún país de la UE por esta razón.
Resulta importante destacar que la contratación que se realiza desde el Auditorio de Zaragoza a músicos, orquestas, solistas, etc… no obedece a ideas o criterios de índole política, sino a una trayectoria o un proyecto profesional consolidado y destacado. En definitiva, los criterios de programación del Auditorio se ciñen al análisis de la calidad artística de las formaciones, dentro de los más exigentes parámetros, la novedad que puede aportar al público zaragozano y aragonés en general y, por supuesto, a los criterios de orden jurídico que pueden influir en su contratación. En el caso que nos ocupa, no existe limitación legal para su actuación en ningún país de la UE, reiterando que su presencia en el listado de orquestas invitadas responde exclusivamente al interés artístico que suscita.
No obstante, desde el Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza, antes de realizar dicha actuación, se ha recabado mayor información para esclarecer cualquier atisbo de duda. De este modo, por un lado, el promotor de la gira española (donde Zaragoza es una de las tres paradas que realizarán)
ha detallado que ni la orquesta ni su director figuran en entidades sancionadas o vetadas por la Unión Europea, ni constan declaraciones públicas apoyando la guerra en Ucrania. Los miembros de la formación cuentan, además, con el visado en regla expedido por el Gobierno de España
para permiso de trabajo, pasando así todos los controles y credenciales exigibles. Y, por otra parte, el Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza se ha puesto en contacto con el Ministerio de Cultura y Deporte para que informe y detalle si existe alguna cuestión o incidencia que impidiera continuar
con esta programación. En su respuesta, el Ministerio ha descartado de manera clara y rotunda cualquier problema al respecto. De hecho, Musicaeterna y su director mantienen también sus actuaciones en Barcelona (Palau de la Musica y Auditori de Barcelona) y en Madrid
(Auditorio Nacional, equipamiento dependiente de citado Ministerio)
Por último, significarle que el Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza ha mostrado siempre su apoyo solidario con el pueblo ucraniano desde el comienzo del conflicto bélico, organizando, entre otras acciones, varios conciertos de carácter solidario en el Auditorio de Zaragoza, lanzando de este modo un
llamamiento a músicos y artistas a que participen de él.
